Before the 1930s redwood cottage was built the area was known as Ka'ōhao based on Hawaiian lore stories. 

Our history in Hawaii begins in the 1948 when Tutu first worked as a nurse on Kauai and Big Island.  In Waimea on south shore of Kauai she worked with Doctor Brennecke delivering babies, and at Hilo Hospital where she befriended Johnny Silva and his Ohana.  1950s the Silva connection and Crivellone family who grew up in the house and planted the mango trees, and our time with the sisters who grew up here.
